Birthday Challenge
Celebrate Sherlock Holmes’ birthday with a special birthday challenge centered around our favorite subject: the Great Detective himself. Every year, the Muse editors provide an essay topic for a special birthday issue, inviting one and all to respond in prose, verse, and even song in celebration.
Jan WHIMSEY Awards
Discover the most whimsical Muse articles ever written, honoring one of the most whimsical among us: Jan Stauber, a dearly departed ASH. To quote Al Gregory, BSI, ASH, the founder of the award: “Articles are to be judged solely on the basis of whimsicality. Scholarship, erudition, logical argumentation, historical discoveries, clever puzzles, etc., are irrelevant. ASH-ness and BSI-ness are irrelevant.”
